イストミア大祭

イストミア大祭(イストミアたいさい、英語:Isthmian Games古代ギリシア語:Ἴσθμια)は古代ギリシア四大競技会のひとつで、開催地であるコリントス地峡(古代名:イストモス)に因んで名前が名付けられた。開催は2年に一度、古代オリンピックの前後の年(オリンピアードの2年目と4年目)に開催されていた。なお、オリンピアードの3年目にはピューティア大祭が開催されたため、1回のオリンピアードの期間中は、毎年何かしらの四大競技会が開催されていたことになる。

Victors in the Isthmian games were not included in those athletes that were entitled to free meals in the [Prytaneion] (IG I3 131).
