2012年、コモンウェルス点字録音図書協同組合 Commonwealth Braille and Talking Book Cooperative の点字研究開発主任タマラ・キアニーは、イヌクティトゥット語の音節の点字コードを開発した。このコードは音節の向きの表示に基づいており、イヌクティトゥット語点字変換テーブルを備えたLiblouis点訳・文字訳システム[注釈 2]を使用すると、Unicode UTF-8およびUTF-16からの機械翻訳を実行できる。
これまでにイヌクティトゥット点字に訳された最初の書籍は絵本 "ᐃᓕᐊᕐᔪᒃᓇᓄᕐᓗ"（仮題『孤児とホッキョクグマ』）[31]であり、ベイカーレークのヌナブト準州図書館に納本されている。
