プロトロンビン

血漿中に含まれるタンパク質の一種。体組織が破壊された際などに「トロンビン」へ変化し、血液凝固を起こす機能を持つ。プロトロンビンは非活性であり、プロトロンビン自体は血液を凝固させる機能を持たない。
2012年6月に、プロトロンビンの遺伝子に異常が見られる場合に血液凝固機能が異常にはたらき、血栓症を引き起こす危険が高いという研究成果が報告された。研究報告によれば、新たに確認された異常のあるプロトロンビンは、トロンビンに変化した後に凝固を抑制する物質との結合が見られず、血液凝固を過剰に促す効果があるという。

トロンビン（Thrombin、第IIa因子とも）は、血液の凝固に関わる酵素（セリンプロテアーゼ）の一種。EC番号はEC 3.4.21.5であり、フィブリノゲンをフィブリンにする反応を触媒する。ヒトの場合、11番染色体のp11-q12に存在するF2遺伝子にコードされる[5][6]。
