マラスムス

マラスムス（英語：marasmus、ドイツ語：Marasmus）は、タンパク質-エネルギー栄養障害の一種で、体に備蓄されたエネルギーとタンパク質がいずれもすべて枯渇するものをさす。マラスムスになった子供の体は衰弱し、体重が適正体重の80%以下になることもある。クワシオルコルの発症率は18か月を過ぎてから増加するのに対し、マラスムスの発症率は１歳になる前に増加する。予後はクワシオルコルよりも良好である。[1]
