ピーター・テイラー (地理学者)

ピーター・テイラー（Peter James Taylor, 1944年11月22日 - ）は、イギリスの地理学者。専門は、政治地理学。

来歴

リヴァプール大学で博士号取得。ニューカッスル大学教授、ラフバラー大学教授を経て、2010年からノーザンブリア大学地理学部教授。

研究

1970年代は、選挙地理学の研究を行っていた。

1980年代になると、世界システム論を政治地理学に導入した。テーラーによる、世界システム論をベースとした政治地理学の研究は「新しい地政学」の実証研究の一例として挙げられる。雑誌 Political Geography の創刊者。

また、世界都市システム研究をリードしたGaWCの中心的なメンバーを務めてきた。
