イザベラ・ルーシー・バード（Isabella Lucy Bird, 1831年10月15日 - 1904年10月7日）は、19世紀の大英帝国の旅行家、探検家、紀行作家[2]、写真家[3]、ナチュラリスト[4]。

イギリス・ヨークシャー出身の女性探検家兼作家。当時の探検家の多くが男性である中で、女性でありながら単独でハワイやロッキー山脈など世界各地を踏破するという数々の功績を残し、西洋諸国では著名な女流冒険家として名を馳せている。明治初期、開国により遠からず失われるであろう日本の“江戸”文化を記録すべく日本を訪れ、横浜で雇った通訳・伊藤とともに“未開の地”である蝦夷ヶ島のアイヌ集落を目指す。

イザベラ・バードも『日本奥地紀行』に、「彼（義経）は蝦夷に逃れてアイヌ人と長年暮らし十二世紀の末に死んだ、と信ずる人も多く、アイヌ人は何処のことを固く信じている人は殆ど無く、義経は彼らの祖先に文字や数学と共に、文明の諸学芸を教え、正しい法律を与えた、と主張している」、等と和人からの伝承を記している。
