SMCタンパク質(えすえむしいたんぱくしつ:SMC proteins)とは、染色体の高次構造と機能の制御に関わるATPアーゼファミリー、あるいはそれに属するタンパク質の総称[1][2][3][4]。SMC は、染色体構造維持(Structural Maintenance of Chromosomes)の略。コンデンシンコヒーシンなど巨大なタンパク質複合体のATPaseサブユニットとして働く。
