シチリア首長国（シチリアしゅちょうこく、アラビア語: إمارة صقلية‎）は、831年から1091年の間シチリア島を支配した首長国である。シチリア島はアグラブ朝のカーディー、アサド・ブン・アル＝フラート（英語版）による遠征以来1世紀余りの時間をかけて征服され、パレルモに拠点を置きアミールまたはワーリーを称するムスリムの支配者の統治下に入った。そして、シチリアのムスリム政権は傭兵として南イタリアで活動していたノルマン人によって完全に再征服されるまで継続した^[1]。本項ではこのシチリアのアミール領（Emirate of Sicily、アラビア語: إِمَارَة صِقِلِّيَة‎）を中心にシチリアにおけるムスリムの歴史について解説する。

注釈

^ 当時の「ランゴバルド人」（ロンバルディア人）という名称はいわゆるゲルマン人の部族のランゴバルド人の同義語ではない。高山によれば、当時南イタリアの「アプーリアやカンパーニアの住民の大多数は、同時代の史料でしばしば『ランゴバルド人』と記されるラテン語・キリスト教文化の伝統を持つ人々であった」^[31]。そして当時シチリアに移住してきた北イタリア出身の人々は自らをランゴバルドに由来する名称の「ロンバルディア人」と呼んだが、当時ロンバルディアと呼ばれた領域は広く、現在のロマーニャ、リグーリア、ピエモンテも含んでいた^[32]。
