バーレスク(Burlesque) とは、有名な作品のスタイルや精神をカリカチュアしたり、その作品のテーマをこっけいに描く文学・戯曲、音楽のジャンルである[1]。バーレスクという言葉はもともとイタリア語のburlesco から来ている。burlesco の語幹burla –は、冗談、嘲りなどの語義をもつ[2]。
