ヒップホップ・ミュージック（hip hop music）は、ヒップホップ^[1]^[2]、ラップ・ミュージック^[2]^[3]^[4]^[5]とも呼ばれる、ラップなどのリズミカルなミュージックからなる音楽のジャンルの一つである。または、そのリズム、セリフを同じ調子でリズミカルに繰り返すことを指す^[2]。ヒップホップの文化の一つとして発達し、その中でも主にMC（ラップ）、DJ（スクラッチ）、ブレイクダンス、落書きの4つに分かれている^[6]^[7]^[8]。他にもサンプリング（または、シンセサイズ^{[注釈 1]}）やビートボックスなどがある。

^ シンセサイザーを用いる音楽の表現方法。「シンセサイズ（synthesize）」という言葉はあまり日本では用いられないが、このページの英語版、「en:Hip_hop_music」で記載されていた"synthesis"という言葉を日本人にもわかりやすく表現するために、この表記にしてある。
