デーモン・コア

デーモン・コア（demon core）は、アメリカの核兵器開発プロジェクト「マンハッタン計画」で、初期の原子爆弾の核分裂性コアとして製造されたプルトニウムの未臨界塊である。直径89mmの球状で重量は6.2kg。1945年8月21日と1946年5月21日の2度、臨界状態に達する事故が発生した。
