メトキシアセチルフェンタニル（英：Methoxyacetylfentanyl（MAF））は、フェンタニル類縁体であるオピオイド鎮痛薬であり、デザイナードラッグとしてオンラインで販売されている^[1]。

副作用

フェンタニル類縁体の副作用はフェンタニル自体と同様であり、痒み、吐き気、死に至る可能性のある重篤な呼吸抑制などがある。フェンタニル類縁体は、2000年代初頭にエストニアで使用が再興して以来、ヨーロッパ全域および旧ソ連諸国で数百人の死者を出しており、新たな誘導体が次々と出現している^[2]。アメリカ合衆国では2014年頃から新たなフェンタニル類縁体とそれに関連する死亡事例の波が始まり、その流行は拡大し続けている。特に2016年以降、これらの薬物は毎週数百件の過剰摂取死を引き起こしている^[3]。

法的地位

メトキシアセチルフェンタニルは、公共の安全に対する差し迫った危険を回避するため、2017年10月にアメリカ合衆国においてスケジュールIに指定された^[4]。
