マリー・サープ

マリー・サープ (Marie Tharp、1920年7月30日 – 2006年8月23日)は、アメリカ合衆国の地質学者であり、海図作成の地図制作者である。ブルース・C・ヘーゼンと共同で、大西洋の海底地図を作成した。大西洋中央海嶺の軸に沿ったリフトバレーの存在を明らかにし、地球科学分野のパラダイムシフトを起こすとともに、プレートテクトニクスと大陸移動説の理論の受容に貢献した。
