- ^ イディッシュ語にゆかりのある Rugelach は語幹 rog (ראָג) に語尾 ach (ך) がつくと複数形、rog に語尾 el (ל) がつくと単数形になる。また、単数形 Rugel の語尾はきわめて短い。ほかの例を見ると shtetlekh (שטעטלעך 小都市の複数形) の単数形 shtetl (שטעטל 小都市) も同じ。日本語で「村」が「町」になるように、shtetl は規模によって shtot (英語版) (שטאָט 大都市) になる[9]。
