対物攻撃行動 (aggressive behavior toward inanimate objects) とは、動物が無生物物体に対して攻撃を仕掛ける行動の事である。

^ 実験動物（マウス、ラット）の多くは集団生活を営む習性を持つので、単独飼育環境は動物にとってストレスである。そのため、長期間隔離飼育を行うと、動物にはさまざまな精神症状が発現する。長期隔離飼育動物はストレス障害モデル^[3]、鬱病モデル^[4]、統合失調症モデル^[5]^[6]、注意欠陥・多動性障害（ＡＤＨＤ）モデル^[7]として妥当性があるとされ、薬効評価試験などに使用されている。
^ 慢性的ストレスにより攻撃性を発現したオス動物は、対物攻撃行動が現れるのと同時に、同種同性間攻撃行動が増強することが多い。メス動物にはストレスに起因する同種同性間攻撃行動は現れない。メス動物に見られる同種同性間攻撃行動は周産期に限られている^[1]。
^ 研究目的で行われる最もポピュラーな同種同性間攻撃性試験はレジデント・イントルーダーテストである（resident-intruder test）^[9]。レジデント（居住者のオス）のホームケージにイントルーダー（侵入者のオス）を入れると、レジデントはイントルーダーに対して攻撃を仕掛ける。そのようすを分析し、動物の攻撃性を評価する。メスや去勢されたオスにはこの攻撃性は存在しない^[10]^[11]^[12]。
