ジェイムズ・ブライス（James Blyth 1839年4月4日 - 1906年5月15日）は、スコットランドの技術者。
来歴
スコットランドのマリーカークに生まれ、グラスゴーで教育を受ける。1887年には3kwの出力を垂直軸に回転する風力発電機を開発して現在の風力発電の原型を作った[1][2]。この風力発電気は発生した電力を蓄電池に蓄え、1914年まで25年間に渡り照明に使用された記録が残る[2]。また、彼の研究対象は風力発電に留まらず、電話やマイクロフォンにも及んだ。
