ジョージ3世（英語: George III、1738年 6月4日 - 1820年 1月29日）は、ハノーヴァー家第3代のイギリス国王（在位：1760年 10月25日 - 1820年1月29日）。

注釈

^ ジョージ3世がシャーロットと結婚する前の1759年4月17日にクエーカーのハンナ・ライトフート（英語版）と結婚し、少なくとも1人の子供をもうけた、と言われることもある。しかし、ライトフートは1753年にアイザック・アックスフォード（Issac Axford）と結婚しており、ハンナも1759年かそれ以前に死去したので、少なくとも公的に認められる結婚や子供はなかった。「カンバーランドのオリーヴ王女」（Princess Olive of Cumberland）を僭称したオリヴィア・セレス（英語版）の娘ラヴィニア・リーヴズ（英語版）は1866年に裁判にかけられたが、このときの裁判員は一致して、リーヴズが提出した結婚証明書は偽造されたものであると判断した^[18]。
^ 例えば、ホレス・ウォルポールは回想録でジョージ3世を批判したが、ジョージ3世が即位して間もなくの頃に書かれたウォルポールの手紙ではジョージ3世を擁護した^[24]。
^ 当時、税金を支払う必要のあるアメリカ人は最大で年6ペンスを支払うが、イングランドでは平均で25シリング（6ペンスの50倍）だった^[37]。1763年時点ではアメリカからの歳入が約1,800ポンドに対し、アメリカにおける軍事支出は22万5千ポンドとされ、1767年には40万ポンドまで上がった^[38]。
