ブローチ加工（ブリーチング）
ブローチとよばれる専用の工具を用いて、各種工作物の表面加工や、スプライン穴など種々の形状をした穴の内面加工を行う工作機械をブローチ盤という。
ブローチは、棒状の軸に、多数の円刃が順次寸法を増しながら配列されている工具で、前部に前つかみ部、後部に後つかみ部があり、その間に荒刃、中仕上げ刃、仕上げ刃がそれぞれ複数並んでいる。
工作物にガイド穴を開け、ブローチの前つかみ部を保持して引き抜くと仕上げ刃の寸法の穴開け加工ができる仕組みである。
ブローチ加工は一工程で仕上げ加工まで行えるため生産性が高く、かつ工具の耐久性も予測しやすい。このため大量生産の自動車産業では多数用いられている。
ブローチ盤は、ブローチの取り付け方向により、立てブローチ盤と横ブローチ盤に分けられる。

ブリーチング (Breeching) とは、一定の年齢を迎えた男児がはじめて半ズボン（ブリーチズ）や長ズボンを履く儀式または習慣のことを言う。 16世紀半ばから[1]19世紀後半または20世紀はじめにかけて、西欧社会における男児はおよそ2歳から8歳になるまではガウンやドレスを着ており[2]、ブリーチズを履く習慣がなかった（アンブリーチ）。比較的細かな違いとはいえさまざまな様式があり、現代の美術史家はそのコードにしたがって肖像画に描かれた子供の性別をみわけることができる。
