イヌの起源

イヌの起源（イヌのきげん）では、イヌ科の家畜種であるイエイヌ（学名 Canis familiaris または Canis lupus familiaris 、以下イヌ）の起源、すなわち、イヌがその祖先となった動物から、いつ、どこで、どのようにして分かれ、イヌとなったかについて解説する。
イヌは、リンネ（1758年）以来、伝統的に独立種 Canis familiaris とされてきたが、D. E. Wilson and D. A. M. Reeder の Mammal Species of the World: A Taxonomic and Geographic Reference （1993年版）において、その分類上の位置づけはタイリクオオカミ（Canis lupus、以下オオカミ）の亜種とされ、学名も C. lupus familiaris に改められた。最近ではこの分類と学名が受容されつつあるが、依然、独立種 C. familiaris としている研究者も少なくない[1]。
