ぬるで (白膠木)
●わが国の各地をはじめ、朝鮮半島から中国、台湾に分布しています。葉は「うるし」に似ていますが、葉軸に翼があるのが異なります。8月から9月ごろ、円錐花序に黄白色の小さな花を咲かせます。葉に「ヌルデノオオミミフシアブラムシ」が寄生すると「ヌルデノミミフシ」と呼ばれる虫嬰(ちゅうえい)ができますが、タンニンを多く含むため、昔はお歯黒や白髪染めの原料として利用されたそうです。ふつうは被れませんが、虫嬰を触ったりすると被れる人もあるそうです。

スマック (sumac, [ˈsjuːmæk]; sumach, sumaqとも表記する) (アッシリア現代アラム語: ܣܘܼܡܵܩܵܐ, アラビア語: سُمّاق, スンマーク / 主な口語発音:simmāq, スィンマーク), (ユダヤ教 ヘブライ語 אוֹג=Og) は、ウルシ科のヌルデ属 (Rhus) や、それに関連する類のさまざまな植物を総称的に指す言い方である[1]。このうち、主に「シチリアヌルデ」ならび「タナーヌルデ」とも呼ばれるスマック・シバーガイン(Rhus coriaria)の果実を乾燥させ粉状にしたものが中東料理で香辛料として使われており、これをとくにスマックと呼ぶこともある[1][2]。スマック類は世界中の亜熱帯や温帯地域、特に東アジア、アフリカ、北アメリカに生育している。
