ゴンザロ・ガーランド：IEビジネススクールのExternal Relations VP 兼 経済学教授

ゴンサロ・ガーランド（Gonzalo Garland、1959年4月17日 - ）は、IEビジネススクールの渉外担当副社長であり、経済学教授、新興国における国際コンサルタント。ペルーのリマ出身。

経済環境と新興市場のビジネスの専門家として、日本と発展途上国における人口動態の変化がもたらす経済的影響を研究し、中でもペルーの長期予測に関する彼の研究が注目された。 1994年に彼はスペインへ渡りIEビジネススクールで様々な役職を歴任。

来歴

ゴンザロ・ガーランドは南アメリカの国際ビジネスと多くのつながりを持つペルーの裕福な家庭に生まれた。 1980年、リマのパシフィック大学経済学部を卒業。 卒業後はすぐにこの大学で教鞭をとり始め、以来教職に情熱を持ち人生の多くの時間を捧げている。2013年にはBest Business School Professorにノミネートされた。 1984年に彼はスタンフォード大学で経済学の修士号を取得し、その後間もなくペンシルベニア大学で博士号を取得、そこでローレンス・クライン教授とアルバート・アンドー教授の研究助手を務めた。
経済学者としての彼は、Macroconsultで雇用と工業生産の成長に関する予測を作成したり、またGRADEのエグゼクティブ・ディレクターとして働くなどペルーの経済分析機関の重要な一員であり、また、ベネズエラのユネスコのコンサルタントも務めた。
1994年からスペインに住み始め、現代スペイン経済の正確な観測を行ない、メディアにおいても継続的に金融とマクロ経済危機に関する解説をした。 それ以来、彼は経済環境と新興市場の教授としてIEビジネススクールの教員となり、そしてIEビジネススクールの国際的な成功の推進者となった。
