オルタナティブ・データ (金融)

オルタナティブ・データ（英：Alternative Data）とは、 ヘッジファンドのマネージャーや他の機関投資家が投資行動に必要なインサイトを得るために使用される非伝統的なデータである[1][2][3][4][5]。オルタナティブ・データは通常、特定の企業に関する公開情報以外の外部情報であり、即時的かつ特徴的なインサイトと投資機会を投資家に提供するものとされる。例として、衛星画像からショッピングモールの駐車場に停まっている車の数を指数化し、その店の運営会社の収益を予想したり、スーパーマーケットのPOSデータを分析して加工食品関連企業の競争力を判定し、投資判断に活用するなどの利用方法がある。[3][6]
