ダイオウウミサソリ科[3](またはプテリゴトゥス科[4]学名: Pterygotidae)は、ウミサソリ分類群)の1つ。腕のように張り出した大きな鋏角が特徴的で[5][1]シルル紀デボン紀にかけて生息した[2]プテリゴトゥスアキュティラムスやイェーケロプテルスなど、体長1mを超えるほど巨大で、既知最大級の節足動物として有名な類が含まれる[5][6]

  1. ^ 背甲縁辺部腹面の折り返し構造の中央部分(epistoma)とは別器官である。
  2. ^ 「不動指における最大の歯は前に傾く」はアキュティラムスがもつ性質であるが、それをもたないイェーケロプテルスもあるようにコーディングされた。
