聖ピオ十世会は、主にフランス国内に存在する複数の修道会と密接な関係がある（後述）。

聖座は、2016年11月20日に、SSPXの司祭らが告解を聴く canonical recognition を延長した (Misericordia et Misera, 12)^[1] この後、2017年4月4日、教区の司教らがSSPXの司祭に婚姻の証人を委任することも認可した.^[2]。
