- アメリカ海軍に関わる事件の捜査を担当するアメリカ合衆国海軍省傘下の法執行機関、海軍犯罪捜査局（NCIS）
- アジアを中心としたNewly Industrializing Countries（新興工業国）の頭文字。1980年頃の呼称。新興工業経済地域を参照。
- 農業・食品産業技術総合研究機構の研究所の一つ「作物研究所」

新興工業国（しんこうこうぎょうこく、Newly industrialized country、newly industrialized economy, NIE）、または、新興工業経済地域（しんこうこうぎょうけいざいちいき）は、政治学者及び経済学者により世界の複数の国に適用される分類である。新興国と同義になる場合もある。略称はNIES[1]。
