ジャガイモシストセンチュウ

ジャガイモシストセンチュウ（Globodera rostochiensis、（英: golden nematode、golden eelworm、yellow potato cyst nematode））は、茎線虫目に属する線虫の一種。線虫には色々な種類があるが、このうち農作物の根に寄生して瘤をつくるものが、英語名でネマトーダとも呼ばれ、農作物害虫として農業者の一番の天敵である。このうちさらにジャガイモに寄生するものがジャガイモ線虫である。メスの線虫は大量の卵を生み、死んでもその体が球形になった包嚢となり、卵はその中で長く（一説には10年）生存し、それが孵化するとまたジャガイモの根に寄生し、卵を生むというサイクルを繰り返す。この線虫卵の包嚢をシスト（英: cyst）と呼び、シストの状態では駆除が難しく厄介な農作物害虫である。特にジャガイモ生産の多い北海道では、1972年に被害が確認され、毎年この防除に努めている。
