シェールガス（英語: shale gas）は、頁岩（シェール）層から採取される天然ガス（天然気）。元は太古の海にいたプランクトンや藻などであり、それらが堆積したものが数千万年から数億年という長い時間をかけて変化しガスになったもので、化石燃料の一種である。
