双極性障害

双極性障害 (そうきょくせいしょうがい、英: bipolar disorder) は、躁状態 (躁病エピソード) およびうつ状態（大うつ病エピソード）という病相（エピソード）を繰り返す精神疾患であり、気分障害の一つである。統合失調症と並び、二大精神疾患と言われている。古い呼び名では躁うつ病あるいは他の名称として双極性感情障害とも言う。
