音楽選好の心理学

音楽選好の心理学(おんがくせんこうのしんりがく)は、人それぞれの音楽選好の背後にある心理学的要因を扱う。音楽は世界中で日々聴かれている。それは自己表現の方法であると同時に、感情調節や認知発達といった様々な面で人々に影響を与えている[1]。音楽の訓練が知能発達を促進することが示されているが、感情調節にどのように影響するかとの関係は分かっていない[2]。個人の性格が音楽選好に影響を与え得ることを示す多くの研究が行われ、そのほとんどにはビッグファイブが用いられていた。これらの研究は西側諸国アメリカの文化に限らず、日本[3]ドイツ[4]スペイン[5]を含む世界中の国々に重大な結果をもたらした。
