レヴェランドUFO事件

レヴェランドUFO事件（レヴェランドユーフォーじけん、Levelland UFO case）は、1957年11月2日から3日に、アメリカ合衆国テキサス州レヴェランド (Levelland) とその周辺で起きた。レヴェランドは、1957年の人口は約1万人で、テキサス州のサウス・プレーンズ (South Plains) の平坦なプレーリーに、テキサス州ラボックの西にある。この事件は、比較的短期間に多くの目撃者がかかわったために、UFO研究家によって、UFOの歴史上、最も印象的なUFO事件のひとつであると見なされている[1]。しかしながら、アメリカ空軍とUFO懐疑論者のどちらも、この事件は球電 (ball lightning) あるいは激しい雷雨 (severe electrical storm) によって起きたとしている[2][3]。
