ニューサウスグリーンランド

ニューサウスグリーンランド（英: New South Greenland、モレルの陸地と呼ばれることもある）は、1823年3月、アメリカのスクーナー「ワスプ」のベンジャミン・モレル船長が南極のウェッデル海でアザラシ漁と探検のための航海中に記録した幻の陸地である。モレルは300マイル (480 km) 以上にわたって航海したと主張する海岸線の正確な座標と描写を与えていた。ウェッデル海の地域はそれまで訪れることも稀であり、氷の状態によっては航海も難しかったので、その後は陸地の適切な調査も行われないままであり、20世紀初期の南極探検時代になってその存在は決定的に否定された。
