ウナギ目

ウナギ目（学名：Anguilliformes）は硬骨魚類の分類群の一つ。3亜目15科141属で構成され、ウナギ・アナゴ・ハモ・ウミヘビ・ウツボなど791種が記載される[1]。
ヤツメウナギ・ヌタウナギ・デンキウナギ・タウナギ・トゲウナギなどは名前に「ウナギ」を含むがウナギ目の魚類ではなく、それぞれヤツメウナギ目・ヌタウナギ目・デンキウナギ目・タウナギ目（タウナギとトゲウナギ）に属する。また、フウセンウナギ目はウナギ目とは異なる近縁のグループと考えられていたが、1990年代以降のミトコンドリアDNA解析に基づく研究によれば、ウナギ目内部に分岐しウナギ科に近縁である可能性が示唆されている[2][3]。
