西夏学

西夏学、タングート学(Tangutology)、西夏研究、タングート研究(Tangut studies)は、特にタングート人自身によって書かれた当時の文書を通して、古代のタングート人の文化・歴史・芸術・言語を研究する学問[1][2]。タングート人は独自の複雑な文字で書かれた絶滅した言語を話したので、西夏語の研究と西夏文字の解読が西夏学の基礎となった。
