アラン・クーパー（Alan Cooper、1952年 6月3日 - ）は、アメリカ合衆国のソフトウェア設計者、プログラマであり、「Visual Basicの父」として広く認知されている^[1]。また、著書About Face: The Essentials of Interaction DesignやThe Inmates Are Running the Asylum: Why High-Tech Products Drive Us Crazy and How to Restore the Sanityでも知られている。インタラクションデザインコンサルティングのリーディングカンパニーであるクーパー社を創業して目的主導型設計手法を生み出し、ハイテク製品を生み出すための実用的なインタラクションデザインツールとして「ペルソナ」の活用を先駆的に提唱した。2017年4月28日、クーパーは、「Visual BASICにおいてビジュアル開発環境を発明し、インタラクションデザインとその基本ツールの分野を確立した先駆者」として、コンピュータ歴史博物館の「コンピュータの殿堂」の殿堂入りした^[2]^[3]^[4]。
