モントピリア (Montpelier)は、アメリカ合衆国バージニア州オレンジ（英語版）の近郊にある、かつて第4代アメリカ合衆国大統領ジェームズ・マディソンが所有し、その夫人ドリー・マディソンが数多くの訪問客をもてなしたプランテーションであった^[4]。モントピリアはオレンジのダウンタウンから南へ4マイル (6.4 km)に位置する^[5]。また、その所有地の規模は2,700エーカー (1,100 ha)を誇る^[6]。 1960年 12月19日にアメリカ合衆国国定歴史建造物に登録された^[7]。1983年に死亡したモントピリアの最後の民間所有者マリオン・デュポン・スコット（英語版）はその財産を歴史的保存のナショナル・トラスト（英語版）に遺贈した^[8]。2008年 9月17日に6年間のモントピリアの邸宅の復元プロジェクトの完了が発表され、直後にジェームズ・マディソンとドリー・マディソンの家具を再発見するための複数年プロジェクトが開始された^[9]。
