Steven Gerrard, Eden Hazard, Adam Lallana, Daniel Sturridge, Luis Suárez and Yaya Touré are the six players nominated for this year's Professional Footballers' Association's Players' Player of the Year award.

Hazard and Sturridge are also on the shortlist for the Young Player of the Year award, where they are joined by Ross Barkley, Aaron Ramsey, Luke Shaw and Raheem Sterling.

Gerrard is the only player on the shortlist to have won the main prize before, with the Liverpool captain picking up the gong in 2005-06. He is one of three Liverpool players on the six-man shortlist, alongside the strikers Sturridge and Suárez.

Southampton's Adam Lallana has been rewarded for a fine season in which the 25-year-old has made his England debut, while Eden Hazard picks up a nomination for the second year running.

Three Liverpool players – Lucy Bronze, Natasha Dowie and Nicole Rosler – are also nominated for the women's award.
