A weird and whimsical journey into the unknown, Dispatches from Elsewhere's experimental approach doesn't always coalesce, but committed performances and a genuine sense of wonder make it a trip worth taking.

kaley b Hidden gem buried in AMC plus that is didn’t get the credit it deserves. The first episode is really out there and doesn’t make a lot of sense, but that’s how Jason Segal said he experienced The Jejune Institute when he wanted to make this movie. Stick with it, every episode will suck you in more, it feelings magical and the ending is unexpected and beautiful. A wonderfully made show full of intricate details and creativity. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/07/24 Full Review The D I know, obviously, I'm coming late to the party, but, I finally watched this show and I thought it was amazing! Captivating! Brilliant! Beautiful! Even if you can't get into the story as it jumped around (like my husband), you can watch it for the whimsy and beautiful art, if nothing else. I didn't see the ending coming, at all, so, I'm glad I didn't read much about it before I watched it. No spoilers! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/29/23 Full Review Lisa A Amazing and eye-opening. Wildly creative and you can't stop watching. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/14/23 Full Review D M What an incredible show! Definitely will be a repeat watch. Until the end you don't really understand that it's truly you. Then you have to go back and see where you were the whole time. Just watch. You'll get it! Thank you, Jason and crew. You've found our truth and turned it into something incredibly powerful! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting concept but I don't think they quite pulled it off. My opinion is Fredwynn carries the show. He's hilarious. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member A fantastic show. Great use of camera angles and visual cues and a story with messages that chime with truths we should all be open to. It feels like an exploration of the human condition. Drew Gregory Autostraddle If Dispatches from Elsewhere chooses to focus on (its) truth - instead of getting lost in its own whimsy - it might prove to be a game worth playing. Sep 10, 2021 Full Review Wenlei Ma News.com.au It settles in better after the deliberately strange first episode which feels derivative of Charlie Kauffman. May 18, 2020 Full Review Lucy Mangan Guardian At times it feels like you are pedalling that bike yourself. But it's got heart and charm and it is quite clearly and endearingly the result of one man's sensibility and vision. Rated: 3/5 Apr 30, 2020 Full Review Bill Brioux Brioux.tv This eccentric, ten-episode journey may test the limits of the slogan found on the series’ posters: “This show is for you if you believe there must be more.” Oct 13, 2022 Full Review Chris Schulz Stuff.co.nz [A] great show to dive into. Aug 31, 2020 Full Review Victoria Brownworth Philadelphia Gay News Lindley is a revelation, and Segel's beautiful, restrained performance is heartbreaking. May 26, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews
