About Us
In 2004 a small group of like-minded people decided to meet up for the first time and share their passion for an unusual artform.
This group was made up of professional performers, hobbyists, collectors and enthusiasts who had all been attracted to the exciting and mysterious world of escapology for a myriad of different reasons and they decided to meet with the view of sharing their unique experiences with each other.
It was an exciting time. And it was from these very humble beginnings that the UKEA as we know it today was born.
Just eight years on and we now have members covering the length and breadth of the country from all walks of life who meet once a year to discuss, share and create new escapes.
Our Work
The UKEA has expanded a lot since those early days in 2004 but the passion that brought those first members together still burns at the heart of everything we do.
We continue to promote escapology throughout the United Kingdom by encouraging our members to share their ideas and experiences with each other in order for them to present ever more exciting escape stunts for the general public to watch and enjoy.
However, we are also focused on improving the way escapology and its allied arts are portrayed in the media. As an organisation we are proud to have many members who are deemed the best escape performers in the business. With thousands of escapes, hundreds of years experience and many World Records between them. And we would be happy to recommend a performer for your next event.
