The Comic Masters feature
of Muttscomics is a series of tributes to the greats of comic
art, many of whom
have influenced Patrick McDonnell’s art and Mutts.
We began the series with George Herriman, McDonnell’s
foremost influence. Our second installment featured E.C. Segar,
the
father of the famous sailor, Popeye. Our latest installment
is Charles Schulz, the creator of Peanuts, and one
of McDonnell's childhood heros. We hope Mutts fans will enjoy
learning more about the history
of comic
art
and
the
influences
that
challenge
and inspire Patrick McDonnell.
