Ike Barinholtz will star in, write, produce, and make his feature directorial debut on the independent satirical thriller “The Oath.”
QC Entertainment, which also backed Jordan Peele’s horror hit “Get Out” and “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies,” will produce and finance the film.
The movie is set in a near-future America in which citizens are required to take a loyalty oath and follows a man trying to make it through the Thanksgiving holiday without destroying his family.
Besides Barinholtz, producers are Sean McKittrick, Ray Mansfield, Edward H. Hamm, Jr., Andrew Robinson, and David Stassen. QC Entertainment and UTA are co-representing “The Oath” for domestic sales.
Barinholtz played Amy Schumer’s character’s brother in “Snatched.” He stars on the final season of Hulu’s “The Mindy Project,” on which he’s also been a director, writer, and producer.
Barinholtz will next appear in the comedy “The Pact,” alongside John Cena and Leslie Mann. He’s also starring in Netflix’s action-fantasy “Bright” and in Peter Landesman’s political drama “Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House,” starring Liam Neeson. Barinholtz is repped by UTA, Principato-Young, and Morris Yorn.
