This paper clarifies the power formation processes of Shimazu Takahisa of Sosyuke and the positions of the Shimazu family and the vassal corps through the rank accepting processes. It also approaches an aspect of power structures of Sengoku Daimyo Shimazu family. A battle for accession to the Shimazu family occurred all over the feudal territories in the Sengoku period. The victor was the Shimazu Takahisa of Sosyuke, who was supported by the family, and thus acceded as the head of the family. He accepted the rank of Syuガdayufrom the central government. This paper clarifies the following: Chapter 1: Shimazu Hosyuke took care of Shimazu Katuhisa's son who was the late head of the family. This was the background circumstance that led the famil--y, the vassal corps and Kunisyu in Osumi and Hyuga to conclude an alliance and resist Takahisa. He then lured the deputy Syugo Honda from this alliance, who was the strongest power of the vassal corps. He had Honda entertain the envoy of the central government and negotiate, but this it in turn became the motive for Honda's independent inten-tions. Chapter 2: After subduing Honda, he had the bonze, who were respected in the feudal territories and Ryukyu, to rebuild major shrines. He sent Tanegashima's vassal Kyoto, who had distributed harquebuses which were just introduced from Europe. This had impressed on the central government that he had an influence on the feudal territories with regards to his overseas trades. In this way, Shimazu Takahisa succeeded in removing the d~puty Syugo and entering into varying overseas trade through accepting the ranking processes. Such a thing had never been achieved by the previous heads of the family, the Shyugo, and thus began the power structure of the Sengoku Daimyo Shimazu family's transition, led by the head of the family
