Epic Video: "The Dragonborn Comes" by Peter Hollens & Lindsey Stirling

Peter Hollens & Lindsey Stirling lay down 120 audio tracks in their truly epic cover of the Skyrim theme song, "The Dragonborn Comes."

One of the biggest games of the year not only in off-the-shelf sales but in internet memes and glorious parodies has been The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. The game from Bethesda has inspired cover songs, jokes and tons of interesting videos. Two things are at the heart of most of them. Either someone "took an arrow to the knee" or they are covering the song "The Dragonborn Comes" which is featured heavily in the game. As far as the context of this video, the song is the focus.

With 120 audio tracks, 114 of them being vocal tracks by Peter Hollens, and the rest belonging to violinist Lindsey Stirling, this rendition of the song turns into an epic vocal masterpiece. Sadly, you'll need to close your eyes near the end and just enjoy the music so that the cheese factor of a girl with a violin bow taking on a guy with a sword doesn't make you laugh too hard and miss the music. Aside from that, it's a wonderfully produced and filmed video emulating wandering through the land of Skyrim.

This is probably the best fan made cover the song so far, though there are surely more to come. If you dig on their rendition, you can get the track on iTunes.
