PC Game of the Year
Bethesda’s role-playing epic has it all. A dizzying amount of content and deep character customization systems set in an open world where you’re free to follow along with quest goals or blast fireballs at everyone you see. Few games instill such a powerful sense of adventure. As soon as you spot a distant mountain range wreathed in wisps of slow-moving mists, it’s nearly impossible to turn away. There are so many treasures to find and so many stories to follow, it’s easy to lose track of real life meals, sleep and social engagements. Skyrim is a complete virtual world filled with bizarre personalities, warring factions and spiteful demons. There is no best way to play, there is only your way of playing. Though buggy, Skyrim is the best of the Elder Scrolls series, and one of the greatest role-playing experiences ever made.
