James Corden has confirmed that there will definitely be a second series of comedy thriller The Wrong Mans.

Starring Corden and Mathew Baynton, the BBC Two show was a critical and ratings hit over the last six weeks, picking up the biggest viewing figures for a comedy launch on the channel since Ricky Gervais's Extras.

During an appearance on Alan Carr's Chatty Man, the writer and actor said: "We're definitely going to do another one."

The show was inspired by US big-budget series such as 24 and Heroes and featured Corden and Baynton playing council workers Sam and Phil, who end up in a dramatic crime and kidnap caper.

The Wrong Mans is launching in the US on online streaming service Hulu.

Corden and Baynton first developed the idea for the series when they worked together on Gavin & Stacey.
