Today, it has been revealed that the cross was planted by Liam Emmery many years ago.
However, Mr Emmery died six years ago and never lived to see his work in all its glory and his wife had forgotten all about it.
His wife Norma told ITV: 'If he was here, we'd all have heard about it because he'd be so proud.
'He just loved things to be perfect, and I think the Celtic cross is perfect for him.'
The Celtic cross is situated in the Killea, Donegal, in the Republic of Ireland.
Mr Emmery created the cross using two different trees and according to horticultural expert Gareth Austin, the plantation took enormous planning.

He told The Irish Post: 'It's not just cutting patterns in your back lawn, this is sizeable horticultural engineering,' he said.
'Liam created that and gave the gift of that to the rest of us, and we're going to appreciate that for the next 60 or 70 years.'
County Donegal is in the North-west of the island and shares its border with the UK.
