何が良くて移行するのか、イマイチ見えてこなかったので調べてみた。利用者視点では一番最後だけかも。
- 依存性解決に、より効率的な SuSE libsolv ベースの hawkey (C, Python wrapper) を使う。
- API ドキュメントの整備。yum の kozumplik にある関数は、公開・非公開の区別がなかった。テストしやすくする。
- python に依存しすぎだったのを C に。他言語からも扱いやすくする。
- メモリ消費量低減やメタデータ同期の効率化
