Keeper impresses at Man Utd
Peterborough goalkeeper Luke Steele got his month's loan spell at Manchester United off to a great start with a terrific performance on his reserve team debut.
The teenager kept a clean sheet for United in an Under-17 fixture at the weekend. And Steele was again outstanding for United against Oldham Athletic reserves in the Manchester Senior Cup. Posh boss Barry Fry was delighted after hearing of Steele's fine display. "One of the United scouts gave me a call and told me that Luke was outstanding in the 2-1 defeat by Oldham," Fry told the club's official website. "Luke played in a very young United side and made some good saves against an experienced Oldham outfit." Next weekend, Steele joins up with the England Under-18 squad as they prepare for a friendly out in Italy. The English teenagers play the Italians in Bellaria near Rimini next Wednesday, 20 March.
