Stan Lee and William Shatner will unveil a collaborative project at the fifth annual Stan Lee Comikaze Expo. The convention returns to Los Angeles on Halloween weekend, October 30-November 1. Details of the collaboration between Lee and Shatner remain under wraps. In addition, Comikaze has announced a still-developing slate of appearances and events throughout the event. Among them special sessions with comics legends Lee, Mike Mignola, Grant Morrison, Marc Silvestri, Rob Liefeld; appearances by genre favorite Summer Glau (Firefly, Terminator: The Sarah Connors Chronicles), Dita Von Teese, members of the original Star Trek cast; and reunions of the casts of the Nick series All That and Pete And Pete. The event also will see the return of the annual Trick or Treat on Halloween night, with the convention once again free for kids under 12, as well as the Halloween Cosplay Ball, with live DJs and open to all with Saturday badges. Stan Lee Comikaze is LA’s biggest fan convention, with 65,000 attendees in 2014. The full list of events is available on the official site.
Nocturnal Animals has added another member to its expanding cast, booking Peter Nyong’o in a small part. Based on Austin Wright’s 1993 novel Tony And Susan and written and directed by Tom Ford, the story follows a woman whose life is changed when she receives a package containing the manuscript of her ex-husband’s first novel, forcing her to confront the problems in her life. It stars stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams, along with Kim Basinger, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ellie Bamber Karl Glusman, and Robert Aramayo. Produced by Ford, Diane L. Sabatini and Robert Salerno, the film began shooting today. Newcocmer Nyong’o, who famously photobombed Ellen DeGeneres’ Oscar selfie last year. is repped by D2 Management.
