Boxer Adrien Broner was cited for misdemeanor battery after allegedly choking a waitress at Drai's nightclub in Las Vegas early Sunday morning, according to TMZ Sports

Per that report, the waitress told authorities that Broner put his hands around her neck and threatened her, saying "I will knock you out." The incident was reportedly caught on camera, and a witness corroborated the story, though Broner maintained his innocence and was not arrested. He will have a pending court date, however.

TMZ shared a video of Broner speaking to police officers after the alleged incident:

This situation was the latest in a string of incidents over the past year for Broner.

Last week, the boxer caused concern following several social media updates that appeared to be suicidal, per SI.com:

Broner made a series of alarming Instagram posts on Tuesday. "3PM I'm doing it," he wrote in one. "I'm sorry to my family and friends but I don't want to be here no more." His next post was a photo of a handgun with the caption, "I'm going home I love y'all."

Shortly before 3 p.m., he posted an image of white text on a black background that read "25 minutes."

"He's OK, he's OK," Broner confidant Sam Watson told Bryan Armen Graham of the Guardian last Wednesday. "I'm not sure what's going on but I talked to him yesterday and he was fine. I'm sure he's OK."

Broner was also charged with felony assault and robbery at gunpoint for an incident in Cincinnati in January, though those charges were later dropped after the accuser and a witness didn't appear in court. And in July 2015, Broner was sentenced to six months' probation after entering a "no contest" plea following an arrest for drunken driving.

The former champion in four different weight classes hasn't fought since April 1 when he TKO'd Ashley Theophane, though he lost his WBA super lightweight belt after failing to make weight. For his career, Broner is 32–2 with 24 knockouts and one no-contest.
