Gerard Pique to become president of FC Andorra after his company buys Catalan club
GERARD PIQUE will become club president of Spanish fifth tier side FC Andorra after Kosmos group bought the club.
Pique is the founder and president of the sports and media investment group Kosmos Holding.
Earlier this year Kosmos most took over control of the Davis Cup tennis competition.
The company have now purchased the First Regional Catalan Division side FC Andorra.
Kosmos offer was approved by FC Andorra's club members on Saturday, as 206 voted in favour with just one vote going the other way.
Marca report that Pique will become club president with former Barcelona players Gabri and Albert Jorquera joining the project as coaching staff.
A statement read: "The General Assembly of FC Andorra has unanimously approved the transmission of its assets in favour of an Andorran company jointly managed by different investors, including Kosmos.

"Kosmos welcomes the decision made by the club. The company adds this project to its global portfolio linked to sports, media and entertainment ventures."
Reports suggest Kosmos will invest $3bn (£2.35m) into FC Andorra over the next 25 years and create a week-long format similar to a football World Cup.
FC Andorra was only founded in 1942 and during the 1980’s and 1990’s played in the Spanish third tier - however, they now reside two divisions lower.
